Anime Zero — Anime Zero Beginner Guide — First Run to First Carry gameplay

Anime Zero is an anime dungeon crawler: you roll weapons in a gacha, equip two of them, and clear dungeon runs by wiping waves of enemies and killing act bosses. This guide walks through the confirmed setup order for your first hours, based on official patch notes and verified gameplay.

Before your first run

  1. Redeem every code — open the Codes button in-game and redeem all working codes (see our codes page). The launch batch alone hands out rolls, lucky spins, gems and trait rerolls — a real head start.
  2. Join the group and claim group rewards — the game rewards you for being in the official LY* Roblox group. Claim it before you set up your weapons.
  3. Roll your weapons — head to the weapon rolls area. You won’t have many spins at first; aim for at least one Legendary before your first run. You have two weapon slots and can switch between them mid-run, so fill both.

Set up your weapons

  • Enchants: focus on Power first — it raises your damage. Later, chase Hunter, Bloodlust or Supernova. One useful damage enchant is enough to start.
  • Skill tree: every weapon has its own skill tree. You start with one token — spend it on the damage node for +15% damage right away. Playing a weapon levels it and earns more tokens; damage and crit nodes are the early priorities, defense if you keep dying.

Clear your first dungeons

There are three modes: Story, Defend and Infinite (each mapped in the game modes guide).

  • Start with Story — acts get progressively harder (act 2 and 3 are tougher than act 1), and each act drops its own materials.
  • Group enemies together before using area attacks — one skill on a clumped pack beats three skills on single targets.
  • The last wave spawns a boss with much more health and its own skills. If your skills are on cooldown, keep your distance and learn its attack pattern.
  • Pick your difficulty in the lobby: enemies deal more damage and gain health on higher difficulties (easy 0.85x to nightmare 2x health), but Nightmare pays 15,000 money and 350 gems per run after the October 2 buff.

Spend your first rewards

  • Craft accessories — 14 recipes consume the materials each act drops. Damage accessories speed up clears; health ones help while you’re learning bosses.
  • Do quests and claim achievements — both pay coins, materials, spins and gems. Check quest objectives before a run so you can chase two things at once.
  • Equip titles — some unlock from trivial goals like clearing a few dungeons.

AFK chamber between sessions

When you take a break, join the AFK chamber: 10 coins per second, 50 gems every two minutes and one lucky spin every 15 minutes (rates after the October 2 rework). Pass owners are community-reported to receive AFK rewards faster.

What to aim for next

Once you’re clearing Story comfortably, push Infinite for the waves leaderboard and material drops from bosses (all three modes compared in our game modes guide), chase the synergy pairs (Sukuna + Alucard for damage, Luffy + Shanks for health), and start saving spins for the Arcane and Zenless tiers — see the rarity and pity guide for the exact numbers, and the progression guide for evolutions, traits and crafting.
